BEFORE CARE

Before Microblading/ Powder Brows/ Combo Brows:

  • It is important to avoid alcohol and caffeine  24 hours before, as it will cause extra swelling and bleeding.

  • Waxing should be done at least 48 hours before your treatment.

  • Freshly exfoliated skin is not ideal: It's best to avoid using retinol and topical over-the-counter and prescription acne treatments for at least TWO WEEKS before your treatment since these products can sensitize the skin, and potentially lead to irritation.

  • Arriving at your appointment makeup-free with clean skin also helps the process!

Before Lip Blush/ Liner:

  • Avoiding caffeine, alcohol, and exercising the day of the procedure is key for prep. It is also important to avoid alcohol 24 hours before, as it will cause extra swelling and bleeding.

  • Freshly exfoliated skin is not ideal: It's best to avoid using retinol and topical over-the-counter and prescription acne treatments close to the mouth for at least TWO WEEKS before your treatment since these products can sensitize the skin, and potentially lead to irritation. I do recommend doing an at-home lip scrub two weeks before your appointment to exfoliate the dead skin.

  • Arriving at your appointment makeup-free with clean skin also helps the process.

  • Treatments such as lip injections and chemical peels need to be done at least four weeks before your appointment.

  • Before your appointment, try on your favorite lipstick colors in different neutral shades of rose, coral, and brown tones to see what meshes best with your skin tone. Then bring those with you (it doesn't hurt to have some reference photos either). That way, on appointment day you’ll be able to give your PMU expert an accurate idea of what you want.

Before Fibroblast:

Pre-Treatment:

  • It is recommended that sun protection of SPF 30-50 be used daily for at least two weeks prior to Fibroblast

  • Skin care products with ingredients such as retinol, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), tretinoin, or any type of Vitamin A or Vitamin C derivatives should be avoided two weeks before.

  • Blood thinners and antibiotics should be avoided three weeks before.

  • Stay out of the sun and tanning salons. Also please refrain from using any self-tanning products for three weeks.

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before the appointment.

On the procedure day, it is recommended that no make-up is worn on the targeted area. Please arrive with clean skin.

You may take an antihistamine 30 minutes prior to their appointment to help with any swelling that may occur from the skin surface disruption.

Results are often seen almost immediately, but the best results appear a few weeks post-procedure. Results will vary from person to person and many other factors and you will need multiple sessions for most desired results. It can be considered to receive this procedure every few years to reduce the appearance of any recurring signs of aging that appear over time.

Before Brow Lamination:

  • Avoid exfoliating the brow area 48 hours before your appointment.

  • Avoid using retinol and topical over-the-counter and prescription acne treatments for at least 48 hours before your treatment since these products can sensitize the skin, and potentially lead to irritation or chemical burn.

  • Since you must avoid getting the brows wet for 24 hours after the appointment, it is recommended to arrive with a clean face!

Before Henna Tint:

  • Henna works best on clients with healthy skin.

  • Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema will mean the henna won’t last as long.

  • Freshly exfoliated skin is not ideal. The results of henna brows typically last between 2-4 weeks on the skin, but it’s dependent on your skin type. The hair will remain tinted for up to 6 weeks.

  • If you have a dryer complexion, henna brows will tend to last a bit longer than they would on someone with an oily complexion.

  • To maintain them for as long as possible, it's important to not over-wash your face. Salicylic acid and exfoliation do cause the henna to break down faster so it is recommended to entirely avoid those in the brow area.
